("We play for weddings, bnei mitzva, or circumcisions -- on the cutting edge of Jewish music.")
We are amateur musicians who play the nigunim of the shtetlach -- the melodies from the little towns of the old country. It is "Fiddler on the Roof" type of music, but the real, echtige thing, not ersatz broadway
Sadly, the group disbanded when Zvi moved to southern California. It would be nice to revive it. If you live in the San Diego area - or in Connecticut near Hartford - and you love the music, send me e-mail . Enthusiasm is more imporant than talent (though talent doesn't hurt either.) If you want a lot of money and nubile youths of your gender preference throwing themselves at your feet - we can't help you. But if you love Jewish soul music - we're your band.
Zvi will do a strolling fiddler gig. He asks for no money for himself but would like a donation to the Israeli Philoharmonic Orchestra be made in return.
You'll be able hear what we sound like by downloading these MIDI and MP3 files (when I upload them).
